About Faculty
Industrial Engineering is a systematic and multidisciplinary branch of engineering that provides the optimal design, development, execution and improvement of all organizations that produce products and/or services, taking into account all resources such as people, materials, money, information, facilities and technology, taking into account performance criteria such as quality, environment, efficiency and fitness for purpose.
The aim of ISTUN Department of Industrial Engineering is to educate industry professionals, academicians and entrepreneurs who will contribute to themselves, the organization, science, technology, country, nature, humanity and the world with our education that will meet the needs of today and the future, with our strong staff with academic and industry experience, in cooperation with the university-industry, with advanced analysis, synthesis, design and application skills, who value environmental, ethical and social principles, and who are pioneers in their professions. ISTUN Industrial Engineering aims to provide inspiration, space and opportunities for our students to discover why they exist as an industrial engineer and which professional horizon they will walk towards.
Academic Facilities
In the first two years of our department, mainly basic sciences courses and basic competency courses will be given. The next two years will be spent with basic industrial engineering courses, technical elective courses that will enable our students to focus on many different areas of industrial engineering, project courses that will provide teamwork, research and application skills, and internships where the reflection of the education received on the field will be experienced. The courses will be supported by modern educational equipment and laboratory facilities. Our students will graduate much more prepared for their professional lives with the practical training they receive thanks to our academia-industry collaborations, as well as the theoretical education created by taking into account the needs of the developing favorite sectors and the global industrial world.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the department with the title of "Industrial Engineer" can have the opportunity to work in manufacturing industries such as defense, aerospace, automotive, textile, food, electronics, communication, online platforms, e-commerce, e-applications, technology sector such as software, service sector such as banking, tourism and health services. With the versatile education they receive, they can become very good entrepreneurs or very important teammates for startups. Graduates of the department can also work as academicians in universities while continuing their master's and doctoral studies.
