Architecture

Architecture is the activity of designing and implementing a settlement that extends from the individual building to the urban scale, taking into account the physical environmental conditions, technology and social structure. The 21st century contemporary architectural environment has become interdisciplinary as in many other fields. Accordingly, in our Architecture program, a form of education that combines different disciplines under the roof of design has been designed. The fact that our university is located in an urban location in Istanbul provides an environment that contributes to the social and cultural life of our students during their education.

The aim of ISTUN Department of Architecture is to train national and internationally competent architects who are creative, critical thinkers, sensitive to environmental problems, conservation conscious, trained with the awareness of professional ethics, taking into account social principles, respectful to laws and human rights, equipped with universal knowledge and skills, protecting and contributing to the public interest in the design-planning-implementation-management processes, and who can best meet the current and future needs of the sector.

Academic Facilities
In the first two semesters of our department, courses that form the basis of architectural education such as architectural knowledge, basic design education, technical drawing, architectural history, presentation techniques and general mathematics courses will be taught. In the following semesters, our students will learn the creative thinking approach through design studios and develop their expression and presentation skills. Our students' education will be supported by technical elective courses, modern educational equipment and laboratory facilities in order to discover their different talents and direct their interests. In this process, it is aimed to provide our students with the ability to recognize and use digital technologies correctly.
